Gunotsav 2025 – Assam Govt’s Initiative to Improve Education Standards
Gunotsav is an education quality assessment initiative by the Government of Assam, launched in 2017. The primary objective is to evaluate the academic performance of students in elementary and secondary schools, identify learning gaps, and implement remedial measures. This program ensures accountability in education by assessing not just students’ learning outcomes but also infrastructure, co-scholastic activities, and community participation.

Gunotsav 2025 – Evaluation Process
The evaluation in Gunotsav 2025 is based on four core areas:
- Scholastic (90%) – Learning outcomes of students
- Co-Scholastic & Other Areas (5%) – Extracurricular activities
- Community Participation & Contributions (5%) – Engagement of parents and local bodies
- Infrastructure – School facilities, resources, and hygiene
Based on these parameters, schools are graded into A+, A, B, C, and D categories. This classification helps the government identify learning gaps and improve school infrastructure.

Gunotsav 2025 – Evaluation Methodology
The evaluation process in Gunotsav consists of three major steps:
1️⃣ School Evaluation (Preliminary Assessment)
- Schools will self-assess their performance in advance.
- They must submit the evaluation report three days before external evaluation.
- Evaluation will be based on:
- Co-Scholastic and Other Areas
- Community Participation & Contributions
- Infrastructure Facilities
2️⃣ External Evaluation (Third-Party Assessment)
- External evaluators will cross-check and validate school self-assessment data.
- They will interact with students, teachers, and stakeholders to assess learning outcomes.
- Evaluators will upload the final verified data online on the same day of assessment.
3️⃣ OMR-Based Student Assessment
- Evaluation will be OMR-based for all students from Class III onwards.
- Each student will receive an individual question paper.
- For Class I & II, external evaluators or teachers will mark responses on a common OMR sheet.
- For Class III & above, students will fill their own OMR sheets.
How to Check Gunotsav 2025 Results?
The Gunotsav 2025 results will be published by the Department of School Education, Assam on March 27, 2025 (tentative). Schools can check their performance using the UDISE Code and Password on the official portal.
