Ayang Trust Recruitment Details

1. Special Educator

No of posts: 1

CTC: 35k to 40k per month based on the skills and experience

Essential Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (B.Ed./M.Ed. Special Education), or
• RCI-recognized Diploma in Special Education, or
• Degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field with demonstrated interest in inclusive education.
• RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) registration is preferred but not mandatory.
• Prior experience working with children with diverse learning needs is desirable but not essential.

2. Resident Mentor–Hummingbird Home

No of posts: 1

CTC: Up to 30k per month

Essential Qualification:

• Any undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any subject. 
• Proficiency in English is mandatory. 
• Freshers are encouraged to apply (relevant experience will be an added advantage).

3. Science Teacher- Secondary Grades

No of posts: 1

CTC: 40k to 50k per month based on the skills and experience

Essential Qualification:

• A graduate degree in Science or Engineering is required. A postgraduate degree in Education would be highly desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary school level.
• In-depth understanding of scientific concepts across physics, chemistry and biology, and secondary-level pedagogy.
• Experience in conducting laboratory experiments and promoting experiential, hands-on learning.
• Excellent command of English.
• Innovative, reflective, and passionate about promoting scientific inquiry and environmental awareness among students.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Based in Majuli, a riverine island and the only island district in India, home to 170,000 population (2011 Census), primarily from tribal communities such as the Mising and Deori. Majuli, surrounded by the mighty Brahmaputra, faces recurring floods and severe land erosion, which have long hindered the region’s development. Due to geographical isolation, systemic barriers, and annual floods, the education system has remained dismal, and approximately 75% of the population continues to rely on subsistence agriculture. This lack of financial security further worsens access to health care and basic needs. 

At the heart of Ayang’s mission is The Hummingbird School, a model of transformative education that serves as a cornerstone of our work. It believes that schools can drive social change, and our curriculum, pedagogy, and school culture are designed to foster love, critical thinking, and social consciousness in children.
